Steve Jobs on Vision
“If you are working on something that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you.”–Steve Jobs
I didn’t get around to reading Walter Isaccson’s book until a year or two ago. In it, I learned all about Steve Jobs’ eccentricities that made him successful. I can’t help but feel that Apple would be a different company today were he still around, even more innovative and influential, and I get the feeling that it would have been so not because he needed to be first, best, or right. He was fervent about his vision for the sort of customer experience he demanded of his products.
I think Steve Jobs is the epitomy of enjoying his work so much that he likely never worked a day in his life.
So, this week, I’d like you to carve out at least an hour to do one thing that makes you absolutely light up. Tap into your passion. You might look up and discover that one hour turned into two or three, and that’s okay.
Last night a good friend of mine lost her brother. He was only 46. I pray our own lives are not cut abruptly short that way. Let’s give ourselves permission to enjoy it while we have it. If you’re reading this, you will know that I already started.
I hope you have an excellent week ahead of you. I’m looking forward to touching base again tomorrow.
